Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to Food 4 Kids of Seaside
This $1,865 Donation will Allow Food 4 Kids to Continue to
Provide Food for Low-Income Children on Weekends
GEARHART, Ore. — October. 15, 2013 — Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. recently presented a check at its Gearhart branch to Food 4 Kids of Seaside, a nonprofit organization that works to see that school children never go hungry.
To tackle the challenge of keeping low-income children fed outside of the school week, Food 4 Kids of Seaside gives backpacks filled with food to students that qualify for federally assisted lunch and breakfast to take home over the weekend. The backpacks are filled with nutritious, healthy, child-friendly food, such as peanut butter, tuna fish, breakfast cereal, milk and fresh fruit. Each weekend the backpack provides two breakfasts, two lunches and several wholesome snacks. This year the need is even more pronounced as students from Cannon Beach Elementary join those at Seaside Heights Elementary.
Windermere has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping Food 4 Kids of Seaside, Windermere associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2,000,000 to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.

About the Windermere Foundation
For every home that is bought or sold through Windermere, Realtors donate a portion of each commission to the Windermere Foundation, which supports low-income and homeless families in our communities. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation has grown to encompass ten states and has raised $25 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, clothing, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services to those who need our help most.
In Oregon, Windermere has raised more than $2,000,000 for the Windermere Foundation in support of local organizations offering housing and services to homeless and low-income families. Organizations such as Bridge Meadows, New Avenues for Youth, and Providence Portland Medical Foundation’s guest housing were included in the 2012 giving.
