Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to College Possible

This $2,000 donation will support College Possible’s work in helping low-income students navigate their way through the college admissions process.

PORTLAND, Ore. – June 19, 2014 – Windermere Stellar recently presented a check at its Northeast Portland branch to College Possible, a nonprofit organization that provides college support programming to low-income high school students in the Portland metro area.

College Possible programs focus on intensive curriculum and coaching, including: preparation for SAT/ACT testing, assistance with college applications, consulting on financial aid options, guidance during the transition into college and support toward college degree completion. The model has proven to be successful, with 98 percent of students gaining college admissions, and 80 percent graduating with a college degree. This $2,000 donation will directly support low-income students at David Douglas High School.

Windermere has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping College Possible, Windermere associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation—a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2 million to programs that support low-income children and families in the Portland metro and north Oregon coast area.
