Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to Community Transitional School
This $2,750 Donation will Support the Transportation Program
PORTLAND, Ore. — September 24, 2013 — Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. recently presented a check at its Raleigh Hills branch to Community Transitional School, an elementary and middle school located in Northeast Portland that serves homeless youth. The $2,750 donation will be used to transport homeless youth to and from school from any location necessary, while providing some stability and structure in their tumultuous lives.
Studies show a correlation between student academic success and staying in one school. Community Transitional School provides a stable educational environment for homeless and low-income students by ensuring that their students can get to school. Four bus routes covering 120 square miles in and around Portland pick students up from run-down apartments, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and even cars or vans — regardless of where or how many times they move.
Windermere has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping Community Transitional School, Windermere associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2,000,000 to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.

About the Windermere Foundation
For every home that is bought or sold through Windermere, Realtors donate a portion of their commission to the Windermere Foundation, which supports low-income and homeless families in our communities. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation has grown to encompass ten states and has raised $25 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, clothing, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services to those who need our help most.
In Oregon, Windermere has raised more than $2,000,000 for the Windermere Foundation in support of local organizations offering housing and services to homeless and low-income families. Organizations such as Bridge Meadows, New Avenues for Youth, and Providence Portland Medical Foundation’s guest housing were included in the 2012 giving.
