Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to

De la Salle North Catholic High School

This $5,000 Donation will Provide Scholarships for Students

PORTLAND, Ore. — August 18, 2014 — Windermere Stellar recently presented a check at its Northwest Portland branch to De la Salle North Catholic High School (De la Salle), a private school located in North Portland that provides college preparatory education to underserved students in the area.

De la Salle will be use the $5,000 to support the school’s crucial scholarship program. By providing a high quality education to underserved youth, De la Salle is opening up opportunities to students who might not otherwise have the support necessary to continue their education. All students who attend De la Salle come from families making less than 75 percent of the area’s median income and 60 percent of the students qualify for free and reduced lunch.

Three students from the class of 2014 earned a prestigious Gates Millennium Scholarship, which covers the full cost of education through completion of an undergraduate degree.

Windermere has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income children and families and giving to the community. In addition to helping De la Salle, Windermere associates participate in annual community service day projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2 million to programs that support low-income children and families in the Portland metro area and north Oregon coast area.
