Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to Focus on Youth
This $2,000 Donation will Allow Homeless Youth the Opportunity to Photograph Scenic Destinations
PORTLAND, Ore. — September 24, 2013 — Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. recently presented a check at its Moreland branch to Focus on Youth, a nonprofit organization located in Northeast Portland that provides mentoring, photography field trips and printing workshops to homeless youth. The $2,000 donation will support these creative and educational opportunities for underprivileged children.
The mission of Focus on Youth is to empower at-risk homeless youth through photography and mentorship, which provides them with creative outlets to make positive choices in their lives. Over the past ten years, the organization has put cameras in the hands of hundreds of underprivileged youth and has seen their students profoundly transformed by this experience. Through the lens of a camera, students begin to see beauty in themselves and in the world, as well as new possibilities for their future.
Windermere has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping Focus on Youth, Windermere associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2,000,000 to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.

In Oregon, Windermere has raised more than $2,000,000 for the Windermere Foundation in support of local organizations offering housing and services to homeless and low-income families. Organizations such as Bridge Meadows, New Avenues for Youth, and Providence Portland Medical Foundation’s guest housing were included in the 2012 giving.
