Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to Food 4 Kids of Seaside

This $2,000 donation will supply backpacks of food for low-income students to take home for the weekend.

GEARHART, Ore. – November 18, 2014 – Windermere Stellar recently presented a check to Food 4 Kids of Seaside, a nonprofit organization that gives low-income students backpacks full of food to take home over the weekend.

Since April 2011, Food 4 Kids of Seaside has been sending food home with hungry children every weekend. During the 2013-2014 school year, the organization served about 130 children in the community. This $2,000 donation will be used to purchase nutritious, healthy, child-friendly food such as peanut butter, tuna fish, breakfast cereal, milk and fresh fruit. Each weekend the backpack provides two breakfasts, two lunches and several healthy snacks.

Windermere Stellar has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping Food 4 Kids of Seaside, Windermere Stellar associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2 million to programs that support low-income children and families in the Portland metro and north Oregon coast area.
