Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to Franklin High School Foods Program

This $3,000 Donation will Dedicated to Purchasing Food Supplies

PORTLAND, Ore. September 24, 2013 Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. recently presented a check at its Portland Heights branch to Franklin High School Foods Program, an educational program where students learn to prepare healthy meals that are served to low-income and homeless youth. The $3,000 donation will be used to purchase healthy food supplies.

Franklin High School Foods Program is unique in that it is focused on youth helping youth. Students learn how to prepare healthy meals in the classroom through hands on experience, and then serve those meals to youth that are most in need — either low-income students within the school or homeless youth that are associated with New Avenues for Youth.

Windermere has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping the Franklin High School Foods Program, Windermere associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2,000,000 to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.

About the Windermere Foundation

For every home that is bought or sold through Windermere, Realtors donate a portion of their commission to the Windermere Foundation, which supports low-income and homeless families in our communities. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation has grown to encompass ten states and has raised $25 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, clothing, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services to those who need our help most.

In Oregon, Windermere has raised more than $2,000,000 for the Windermere Foundation in support of local organizations offering housing and services to homeless and low-income families. Organizations such as Bridge Meadows, New Avenues for Youth, and Providence Portland Medical Foundation’s guest housing were included in the 2012 giving.
