Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to KairosPDX

This $1,500 donation will support the KairosPDX’s Early Learning Network.

PORTLAND, Ore. – December 9, 2014 – Windermere Stellar recently presented a check at its Northwest Portland branch to KairosPDX, a nonprofit organization headquartered in North Portland that works to deliver excellent, equitable education to underserved children and their families.

Recognizing that academic success begins at home, KairosPDX works to support low-income families and their childcare providers through its Early Learning Network. This $1,500 donation will be used to educate parents and guardians, as well as in-home childcare providers, on the importance of early childhood. The Early Learning Network coordinates trainings on a range of topics, including: Kindergarten preparation, summer-time developmental activities, early childhood discipline, childhood advocacy and the impact trauma has on children

Windermere Stellar has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping KairosPDX, Windermere Stellar associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation – a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2 million to programs that support low-income children and families in the Portland metro and north Oregon coast area.
