Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to
Warrenton-Hammond Healthy Kids, Inc.
This $1,000 donation will supply food for hungry students to take home on the weekend.
GEARHART, Ore.—December 4, 2014— Windermere Stellar recently presented a check to Warrenton-Hammond Healthy Kids, a nonprofit organization that provides financial, physical and nutritional support to help meet the needs of low-income students.
Warrenton-Hammond Healthy Kids partners with school teachers and staff to identify children in need and discreetly provide them with non-perishable food items to take home over the weekend through its weekend backpack program. In the 2013-2014 school year, nearly 2,300 backpacks of food were sent home, with 100 more students enrolling in the program this fall. The $1,000 donation from the Windermere Foundation will support the continued service and growth of this program.
Windermere Stellar has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping Warrenton-Hammond Healthy Kids, Windermere Stellar associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2 million to programs that support low-income children and families in the Portland metro and north Oregon coast area.
