Windermere Stellar Nearly Doubles its Donations to Local Nonprofits in 2014
Portland, Ore. — January 15, 2015 — Windermere Stellar, a leading residential real estate firm in the area, supported 45 charitable organizations throughout Oregon and southwest Washington in 2014. Through the local chapter of the Windermere Foundation, the firm donated $370,000 to organizations supporting low-income children and families in our local communities.
Windermere Stellar nearly doubled its donation amount from the previous year’s because the largest contribution of $100,000 had been earmarked to be given to Providence Portland Medical Foundation’s new guest housing facility in 2014 (completing an original $200,000 commitment for this project).
The donations were distributed year round throughout the Portland metro area, the north Oregon coast, Lake Oswego, West Linn and Vancouver, Wash. Additional beneficiaries included Friends of the Children, New Avenues for Youth, Bridge Meadows, South County Community Food Bank in Seaside, Children’s Justice Center in Vancouver and more.
“Windermere Stellar’s culture of getting involved to help strengthen our communities is infectious,” said Joan Allen, Windermere co-owner and Windermere Foundation co-chair. “We are fortunate that each year we have 100 percent participation from our brokers, staff and owners who join together to initiate creative fundraisers for worthy causes.”
Ideas are already being generated for 2015 fundraising in order to continue Windermere Stellar’s tradition of helping build and sustain strong local communities.
