Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to
Candlelighters for Children with Cancer
This $2,000 Donation will Allow Candlelighters for Children with Cancer
to Continue to Assist Families with Basic Needs during this Challenging Time
PORTLAND, Ore. — August 8, 2013 — Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. presented a check at its Lake Oswego branch to Candlelighters for Children with Cancer (Candlelighters), a nonprofit organization that provides support for local families whose children have been diagnosed with cancer.
This $2,000 donation will be dedicated to the Emergency Funds Program, which provides families with up to $400 per calendar year to pay for basic needs like rent, utilies, gas, or food. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, many families experience financial crisis. Candlelighters is there to support them both financially, through the Emergency Funds Program, but also emotionally through numerous programs, including family activities and camps, support groups, bereavement services, and scholarships.
Windermere has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping Candlelighters for Children with Cancer, Windermere associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $1,000,000 to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.

About the Windermere Foundation
For every home that is bought or sold through Windermere, the Windermere Foundation donates a portion of the proceeds toward supporting low-income and homeless families in our communities. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation has grown to encompass ten states and has raised $25 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, clothing, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services to those who need our help most.
In Oregon, Windermere has raised more than $1,000,000 for the Windermere Foundation in support of local organizations offering housing and services to homeless and low-income families. Organizations such as Bridge Meadows, New Avenues for Youth, and Providence Portland Medical Foundation—Guest Housing were included in the 2012 giving.
