Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to
Rose City Rowing Club & New Avenues for Youth
PORTLAND, Ore. — April 10, 2015 — Windermere Stellar recently presented a $3,111 donation at its Northeast Portland branch to Rose City Rowing and New Avenues for Youth. The funding will support a program the two Portland nonprofits created together, called the Homeless Youth Rowing Program, which introduces homeless youth to rowing with the goal of helping them exit street life permanently.
Rose City Rowing empowers young adults to become capable, confident people through a nationally competitive team-oriented rowing program. New Avenues for Youth works in partnership with the community to prevent youth homelessness, providing homeless and at-risk young people the resources and skills needed to lead healthy, productive lives.
