Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to Kinship House

This $2,500 Donation will Provide Kinship House with the Tools

Used in Therapy for Foster Children and their Families

PORTLAND, Ore. — December 9, 2013— Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. recently presented a check at its Northwest branch to Kinship House, a nonprofit organization located in Northeast Portland that provides mental health programing geared toward foster children and their families.

Kinship House will use the $2,500 to supply therapy rooms with essential tools to provide child and family therapy. These services support each child’s and each family’s unique needs—focusing on improving daily functioning and developing skills. Perparing children and their caregivers for a lifelong home, without a return a to the foster care system, is the ultimate goal of Kinship House.

Windermere has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping Kinship House, Windermere associates participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $2 million to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.

About the Windermere Foundation

For every home that is bought or sold through Windermere, Realtors donate a portion of each commission to the Windermere Foundation, which supports low-income and homeless families in our communities. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation has grown to encompass ten states and has raised $25 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, clothing, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services to those who need our help most.

In Oregon, Windermere has raised more than $2 million for the Windermere Foundation. Organizations such as Bridge Meadows, New Avenues for Youth, and Providence Portland Medical Foundation’s guest housing were included in the 2012 giving.
