Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to The Children’s Book Bank

This $1,875 Donation will Provide 1,125 Books to 75 Children

Portland, Ore.—March 18, 2013—Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. (CCRGI) presented a check at it’s Portland Heights branch to the Children’s Book Bank, a nonprofit organization located in Northeast Portland that brings books to children in low-income neighborhoods.

The Children’s Book Bank will use the $1,875 in funds to provide 75 children from Hazelwood Head Start with 16 books each. Providing books to children in this demographic promotes literacy, helping close the educational gap between children from middle-income and low-income backgrounds.

Windermere CCRGI has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving back to the community. In addition to helping The Children’s Book Bank, the associates also participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $1,000,000 to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.

About the Windermere Foundation

For every home that is bought or sold through Windermere, the Windermere Foundation donates a portion of the proceeds toward supporting low-income and homeless families in our communities. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation has grown to encompass ten states and has raised $25 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, clothing, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services to those who need our help most.

In Oregon, Windermere CCRGI has raised more than $1,000,000 for the Windermere Foundation in support of local organizations offering housing and services to homeless and low-income families. Organizations such as New Avenues for Youth, YWCA of Greater Portland and Habitat for Humanity were included in the 2012 giving. More information can be found at
