Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Oregon
This $3,000 Donation will Provide After School and Summer Programming for Youth from Low-Income Backgrounds
Portland, Ore.—May 20, 2013—Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. (CCRGI) presented a check at its Lloyd Tower branch to the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Oregon, a nonprofit organization located in Northeast Portland that provides educational support to youth from low-income backgrounds.
The “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Oregon will dedicate the $3,000 to their after school and summer programming, which will give a class of eighth grade students the opportunity to visit college campuses, participate in service learning, and continue job shadowing. The mission of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Oregon is to help low-income children succeed in school, college, and career by adopting a class of students and providing them with support throughout their education. These funds will support a class of students who have been part of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Oregon since they were in the third grade.
Windermere CCRGI has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving to the community. In addition to helping the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Oregon, the associates also participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $1,000,000 to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.
