Windermere Foundation Presents Funding to Friends of the Children

This $1,500 Donation will Support

the Continued Mentorship of a High School Student

Portland, Ore.—March 18, 2013—Windermere Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, Inc. (CCRGI) presented a check at its Raleigh Hills branch to Friends of the Children, a nonprofit organization located in Northeast Portland that provides vulnerable children with a professional mentor for up to 12 years, starting in kindergarten.

Friends of the Children will dedicate the $1,500 to the continued mentorship of a high school student who has been with the program for the past ten years—ensuring guidance through high school. Through this mentorship program, low-income children are able to experience cultural and social activities that they might not have had the opportunity to participate in. These experiences and their continued mentorship support them in becoming healthy and successful members of society.

Windermere CCRGI has a long-standing tradition of assisting low-income families and giving back to the community. In addition to helping Friends of the Children, the associates also participate in annual community service projects and donate a portion of every commission to the Windermere Foundation — a nonprofit organization that has raised and donated more than $1,000,000 to programs that support low-income and homeless families in the Portland metro and north Oregon Coast area.

About the Windermere Foundation

For every home that is bought or sold through Windermere, the Windermere Foundation donates a portion of the proceeds toward supporting low-income and homeless families in our communities. What started in 1989 as a grassroots foundation has grown to encompass ten states and has raised $25 million for programs and organizations that provide shelter, clothing, children’s programs, emergency assistance, and other services to those who need our help most.

In Oregon, Windermere CCRGI has raised more than $1,000,000 for the Windermere Foundation in support of local organizations offering housing and services to homeless and low-income families. Organizations such as New Avenues for Youth, YWCA of Greater Portland and Habitat for Humanity were included in the 2012 giving. More information can be found at www.windermere.com/foundation.
